Sea
Cottage was the perfect choice for our honeymoon serving as an ideal
homebase for exploring the island, but also a destination in and of
itself. The views of Coral Bay while being nestled in the trees was
such a unique and memorable experience. Some mornings it was hard to
leave the front deck! The location was perfect for allowing us to explore
the north and south beaches, Coral Bay, and Cruz Bay. We absolutely
loved the outdoor shower! Being tucked away in the woods was so peaceful
and serene, and the nights were quiet, cool, and comfortable with the
windows open. We would highly recommend the Sea Cottage to any couple
looking for a beautiful and private cottage with amazing views. We loved
our entire time on St. John and are already talking about our next trip
and we will surely stay at the Sea Cottage again.

The
moment my wife and I saw the cottage, there was never a doubt that we
would have a relaxing and romantic week ahead of us. In most instances,
the actual rental appearance never quite measures up to the listing
photos that are viewed on the website. Sea Cottage is the exception!
The sunrise views of Coral Bay and beyond were spectacular with the
morning mist rising from the surrounding mountains. Every amenity of
the cottage was a delight; the bed was very comfortable, the outdoor
shower was heavenly, the view from the balcony no matter what time of
day or night was grand, the cottage itself was clean, neat and tastefully
decorated with local, handcrafted art, every appliance from the smell
of the coffee pot brewing in the morning to the soothing music provided
from the iPod helped create an ambience of relaxation and peace. Even
the road winding through the mountains leading to the cottage, provided
a sense of adventure and excitement. Although Sea Cottage is located
high on the mountain, we actually walked from the cottage down the Bordeaux
Mountain Trail to Lameshur Bay to snorkel, a roundtrip of about 5 miles.
There is absolutely nothing to say that would be a drawback, especially
if you are looking for a place that is very private, romantic and peaceful.
Bottom line: When revisiting St. John for another vacation, I will not
be researching the internet for a different accommodation. We are already
looking forward to another week at the Sea Cottage and exploring more
of what St. John has to offer.

We
thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sea Cottage. It is very private and secluded.
We had no problem with insects and ate our meals on the veranda with
a georgeous view of Coral Bay and beyond. The cottage is clean and new.
Good selection of DVDs on hand. The outdoor shower was a favorite. We
recommend Sea Cottage wholeheartedly.

The
Sea Cottage was a perfect getaway for two! This is an extremely private,
brand-new home with spectacular views of the sea. The cottage was clean
and as-advertised. The cottage has beautiful landscaping from the road
down to the home. The forest surrounds the porch side of the cottage,
and we really enjoyed listening to the birds (who are very friendly
and will sit on the railing to look at you!) and the sound of the breeze
in the trees. We did not have any problems with insects despite being
so close to the forest. The breeze was certainly steady enough to keep
the house cool. If we are able to return to St. John in the future,
we will not hesitate to rent the Sea Cottage!

My
partner and I just spent a wonderful week on St. John in the Sea Cottage
on Bordeaux Mountain. The cottage has many attributes to recommend it,
the greatest of which is the view overlooking first the lush green Carolina
Valley and then several beautiful bays, the East End of St. John and
the British Virgin Islands, and the Caribbean in the distance. The pictures
shown in the property description are accurate, as hard as it might
be to believe. So most mornings were spent in the comfortable chairs
on the porch, drinking coffee, watching the sunrise, reading, and watching
the beautiful, tropical birds, including bananakeets and hummingbirds.
Afternoons were often spent reading in the hammock before heading out
to dinner. The cottage itself is lovely with large Mexican tiles on
the floor as well as on the wrap around deck and in the outside shower.
The outside shower offered complete privacy, but stunning views. The
screen doors on two sides of the cottage, plus the many windows, create
fantastic airflow from the famed trade winds. There is a great selection
of dvd's and a nice flat screen tv. The kitchen is appropriately stocked
to allow for cooking and we cooked one night. But there are many wonderful
restaurants nearby in Coral Bay and Cruz Bay, so we ate out most nights.
The bathroom is stocked with wonderful comfy towels. Although the lush
forest trees surround three sides of the Sea Cottage, the side you see
when you approach from the driveway is beautifully landscaped. Accessibility
to all of St. John is another great benefit of staying at the Sea Cottage.
You are close to great St. John National Park trails. You are a short
drive to great beaches on the North Shore as well as to the quiet and
beautiful East End. Amazing snorkeling is to be had in the waters at
several spots. There is also plenty of St. John information available
on the bookshelves in the cottage. There is a good grocery store just
10 mins or so in Coral Bay, as well as some pleasant shopping, including
the property owners' shop, which hasMsome beautiful locally made artisan
crafts. The larger grocery stores, more shopping and restaurants are
just 20 mins away in Cruz Bay. We highly recommend the Sea Cottage for
a great, relaxing, romantic getaway for two that comes at a very reasonable
price. We recommend an SUV rental in order to take full advantage of
all St. John has to offer.

After
our wedding, we wanted to stay somewhere private and comfortable. We
did not want to be at a busy, pricey resort. We were very impressed
with the Sea Cottage. Monika and Jorge are really nice people and great
hosts. They met us on the ferry dock and had yummy banana bread waiting
for us in the fridge. They were easily accessible in case any came up.
The Sea Cottage is certainly tucked away, but easy to find as there
were signs directing us to it from off the main road. The view is priceless,
as we looked out from the deck on Coral Bay and eastern side of the
island. We could even see Tortola and other islands in the distance.
At night, it was quiet and cool as we slept comfortably with the windows
open, the screen doors shut, and fan blowing overhead. There is a fridge,
microwave, toaster, grill, and coffee maker available for breakfast
and keeping food fresh for the week. We enjoyed the flat screen tv with
dvd player and great collection of movies in the evening. We stayed
busy during each day leaving early after preparing breakfast and lunch,
returning each evening to freshen up for either a quiet night in or
going out to enjoy food at Cruz Bay. We loved staying here and would
definitely recommend this place for couples who want a secluded, peaceful,
and comfortable hideaway with an amazing view.

We
were looking to get away from the common vacation grind, crowded pools
and cookie cutter resort life and hoped to find a quiet, remote and
authentic retreat. We found exactly that at the “Sea Cottage.”
The sounds of the forest at night were amazing and the view spectacular.
There are no homes across the valley, which adds so much to the private
atmosphere. The outdoor shower was one of our favorite things about
Sea Cottage, the experience of being surrounded by the forest was very
unique, and beyond what we had expected. It really makes you look forward
to returning to the cottage after a long day of hiking and snorkeling.
You won’t regret it; we had an amazing time and cannot wait to
go back.
